“My work often sits at the intersection of queerness and technology and as such I’m excited to be involved in QueerTech.io. The piece to be included, Something in the Water (November 2017 preview) is a game set in a world in which mass leakage of atrazine, an herbicide known to feminize male frogs, has transformed the landscape into a queer utopia. I hope to show a queer gaming fantasy while asserting gaming as an inherently queer
Karl Munstedt is a digital artist living and working in Brooklyn, NY. Born in Boston, MA, Karl grew up spending much of his time on the internet befriending strangers and finding numerous cyber boyfriends. Using technologies like gaming, augmented reality, the web, and mobile applications, Karl’s work explores issues of queerness, visibility, and fantasy. He will receive a BFA in Interactive Arts from Pratt Institute in 2018.
